Flip-flops are great for the beach, not so much for ancient ruins. Imagine trying to look dignified while chasing one through the Colosseum after it flies off mid-step. It’s a scene straight out of a Roman comedy. Plus, Italians only wear flip flops to the beach and you don’t want to stick out like a sore thumb! If you want to bring a “water” shoe, opt for the Reef Water Vista Slingback Sandal. You can dress it up and down.
