Bellagio Bliss- Luxury Family Stay in Lake Como

We’ve been lucky enough to stay at some pretty incredible hotels around the world—but Hotel Belvedere in Bellagio? This one still managed to blow us away in the best, most “wait, is this real life?” kind of way. It's technically a 4-star hotel, but the service, accommodations, and attention to detail felt like it came straight out of the luxury hospitality hall of fame.

Tucked into a peaceful hillside overlooking Lake Como, this place had everything: breathtaking views, top-notch service, and a breakfast that may have changed our lives (more on that in a sec).

We stayed in the Lucia Apartment, which was absolutely perfect for our family of four. Think: three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a cozy living area, dining table, and a kitchen we absolutely meant to use but mostly ignored because...hello, vacation. The views? TO. DIE. FOR. I mean, how are you supposed to go back to reality after sipping espresso while staring out at the glittering waters of Lake Como?

Also? Spotless. Like, Mother-in-Law-approved spotless. Every corner gleamed. Even the light switches felt fancy.

And breakfast? Ohhh breakfast. Let’s just say it was extraordinary—and we don’t use that word lightly. Flaky, buttery pastries, omelets cooked to cloud-like perfection, and cappuccinos that made us question everything we thought we knew about coffee. The kids said it best: “This is the best breakfast we’ve ever had in our lives.” And honestly? Same.

The staff? Magical. Kind, knowledgeable, always a step ahead. They checked in often (in the nice way, not the “hovering aunt at a family reunion” way) and even made sure we didn’t get soaked in the rain when we arrived just after lunch service ended. Instead of sending us out into the elements, they opened the kitchen for us. Insert slow clap here. This kind of hospitality is hard to come by—and we’ll never forget it.

Dinner at Albòri (in the hotel) was just as memorable. Not only was the food amazing, but they kept surprising us with extras—fresh breadsticks, popovers, Easter bread, their incredible homemade bread. And just went we didn't think it could get any better, enter the lemon meringue pie and cotton candy with pop rocks and a chocolate/lemon truffle. We felt like VIP guests at every turn.

The hotel’s location is another win: quiet, peaceful, and only a few minutes’ walk to the heart of Bellagio. We loved exploring the charming cobblestone streets, gelato in hand, knowing we could retreat back to our luxurious haven.

Between the stunning pool, spa, top-tier service, and those heavenly breakfasts, we officially give Hotel Belvedere our “Little Luxe Seal of Fancy Approval.”

A quick note on location: If you're wondering where to base yourself on Lake Como, trust us—Bellagio is it. We had originally booked a hotel in the city of Como, but changed our plans based on a recommendation—and we are SO glad we did. Bellagio has the perfect mix of charm and convenience, with tons of shops and restaurants, plus quick ferry access to other dreamy lakeside towns like Varenna, Menaggio, and Tremezzo. It’s walkable, gorgeous, and just the right mix of lively and peaceful. Basically, it’s the Italy you see in the movies, but with better gelato.
