Our recent journey to Lake Garda was nothing short of unforgettable. We arrived in true adventure style—aboard the Bernina Express from Switzerland, a scenic alpine train ride that felt more like a storybook unfolding than simple transportation. By the time we reached Italy, we were ready for relaxation, and after much research, we chose the brand-new Stroblhof Hotel as our base. Online it looked spectacular; in reality, it exceeded every expectation.
First Impressions: A Warm Italian Welcome

From the moment we stepped into the Stroblhof, the hospitality was evident. We were greeted with a refreshing welcome drink before being shown to our room—something that can often be a challenge for families of four in Europe. Yet Stroblhof has perfected the art of family accommodations.
Our suite featured a clever layout: a separated kids’ area with sliding doors and two twin beds, alongside a spacious main sleeping area for parents. Add a sitting area, private balcony, and an oversized bathroom with abundant storage, and it felt as though every detail was designed with families in mind.
Pools, Spas, and Hidden Corners
The hotel’s facilities are a highlight on their own. The indoor pool flows seamlessly into the outdoor pool through a glass door, giving guests the best of both worlds regardless of the weather. Surrounding the pools are plush lounge areas, saunas, steam rooms, and a dedicated relaxation wing complete with heated chairs, blankets, teas, and light snacks.
Every corner of the property seemed to hold a new surprise.
The outdoor pool, set among lush greenery and a freshwater pond, offers ample space to spread out and soak up the sun. For adults seeking tranquility, the Sky Pool is a must-visit. With panoramic views of Lake Garda and built-in jets for relaxation, it quickly became my personal retreat.
Family Fun: A Kids’ Club That Truly Works In Lake Garda
Traveling with children often means balancing adult relaxation with family activities. At Stroblhof, the kids’ club and water facilities make that balance effortless.
Waterpark: A playful space perfect for younger children, plus an indoor slide that entertained both our six- and twelve-year-old.
Kids’ Club: With daily activities, a large indoor playroom, and an outdoor playground, our youngest was thrilled from morning to night.
Teen Lounge (in progress): Even during our stay, the teen space was already stocked with games, billiards, and screens—a promising addition for older kids.
Most importantly, our children loved it so much they asked to go back each day. Even our twelve-year-old, who can be hard to impress, happily joined activities with his sister—giving us rare and much-appreciated time to unwind.
Culinary Highlights: Dining at Stroblhof Lake Garda
If the facilities impressed us, the dining experience amazed us.
Breakfast: A lavish spread of fresh pastries, cheeses, meats, fruits, and eggs or crepes made to order. It was an indulgent start to each day.
Dinner: Truly extraordinary. Each evening began with a buffet of salads, cheeses, and charcuterie, followed by themed offerings that varied nightly. Guests also selected a four-course meal each morning, allowing dinner to feel both personalized and elegant.
Food at Lake Garda – Stroblhof Resort
The desserts deserve a special mention: a rotating selection that seemed endless, including nightly gelato that delighted both kids and adults. Another thoughtful touch—families are assigned a table for the duration of their stay, creating consistency and ease at mealtimes.
For parents, the best part came after dinner: while children rushed back to kids’ club, adults were able to linger over wine and dessert, enjoying the rare luxury of a quiet meal.
Embracing Flexibility: Rainy Days and Riva Lake Garda
Though the weather didn’t always cooperate, Stroblhof made it easy to enjoy downtime. One rainy day was spent exploring the pools, spa, and kids’ activities. Instead of being disappointed, we felt rejuvenated—proof that sometimes travel surprises can become highlights.
When the skies cleared, we took a short drive north to Riva del Garda. The journey itself was scenic, and once there, we wandered cobblestone streets, skipped rocks by the lake, and, of course, enjoyed gelato. Returning to Stroblhof that evening, with the sun setting over Lake Garda, felt like the perfect conclusion to our day.
Final Thoughts on Lake Garda & Stroblhof
Our three-night stay at the Stroblhof Hotel in Lake Garda was a seamless blend of family fun, wellness, and luxury. The thoughtful accommodations, exceptional facilities, and world-class dining made it an experience we will remember long after our trip.
For families seeking a destination that truly caters to both children and adults—without sacrificing style or comfort—Stroblhof is a gem. Whether lounging in the Sky Pool, indulging in Italian cuisine, or watching the kids run off to activities, every moment felt effortless.
Next stop: Lake Como (review here)—but Lake Garda and Stroblhof have set the bar exceptionally high.
✨ Travel Tip: When traveling as a family, flexibility is key. Sometimes the rainy days and unplanned adventures create the most memorable moments.
